The Signing Of Mortgages For Housing Rises 57.7%, To Levels Of March 2011
The signing of mortgages for the purchase of a home reached 42,547 operations in September, 57.7% more than in the same month of 2020 and the highest figure since March 2011 , as revealed this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE ).
INE data indicate that the average amount of this type of loan stood at 143,831 euros, which is the highest figure since February 2020, while the capital loaned rose to 6,119.5 million euros.
Regarding interest rates, two out of every three home mortgages (65.7%) were signed at a fixed interest rate, a percentage that has been above 60% for five months in a row.
The average rate for home purchase loans was 2.47%; in those signed at a fixed rate, 2.65%, and in those with variable interest, 2.19%, 2.96 points above the average Euribor for that month, which was negative at 0.492%.
